The inaugural AVCJ Women in Asian Private Equity Forum successfully took place in Hong Kong on 13 September 2018. The event bought together over 120 private equity professionals including 40 LPs representing 85 different organizations from 9 countries.

The conference, which focused on the issues and challenges the private equity and venture capital industry faces in increasing and retaining the number of female investment professionals, was kicked off by a fireside chat discussing board diversity, and featured leading executives from MBK Partners, KPMG and Arbor Ventures speaking on a number of selected and well-researched topics including LP perspectives on tackling diversity, barriers to advancement and senior management insights from a private equity perspective.

“Kudos to AVCJ for leading this discussion in Asia, and for including both men and women across the entire private markets. Lots of sharing and great ideas to improve our organisations. We mark our calendars for next year's AVCJ Women in Asian Private Equity Forum.”

Juan Delgado-Moreira, Vice Chairman, HAMILTON LANE

Its a great pleasure in participating AVCJs inaugural Women in Asian Private Equity Forum.  Over the last 20 years, we have seen increased female representation in the senior roles in many business sectors, especially in China. I believe more female leadership in the private equity investment will only have positive influence and impact on the industry. Thanks to AVCJs initiative on bringing more attention to this important topic.”
