Sophia Cheng is the Chief Investment Officer of Cathay Financial Holdings and also teaches in the Department of Intl Business of National Taiwan University. Sophia has 25 years of experience in research and investment with last position acting as Chairman and head of research of Merrill Lynch Taiwan.
Sophia is highly regarded by the government. She is well known for her work in financial sector research and her proactive participation in forming government policies. Sophia has been appointed as Government Affairs Consultant of Executive Yuan and Advisory Committee Member of National Development Council since 2012 and 2015, respectively. Sophia also acts as the Fellow of Asia Pacific Industrial Analysis Association (APIAA) and Board of Director of the Taiwan M&A and Private Equity Council (MAPECT). In the recent years, she has also been actively promoting Corporate Sustainability and Social Responsible Investment in Taiwan. Sophia has been selected as Asia’s Top Sustainability Superwomen in September 2019 and also appointed as Chair of Asia Investor Group on Climate Change (AIGCC) in November 2018.
Sophia holds Master of Science degree in finance-banking from Golden Gate University, San Francisco, California, USA and a bachelor degree in Atmospheric Sciences from National Taiwan University.
James has over 15 years of capital raising, investor relations, fund investment, operations and consulting experience. Prior to joining CBC, he was previously a Senior Director at the Fosun Group where he was primarily responsible for fund/ project capital raising and strategic partnerships at several platforms including the venture capital team, Fosun Kinzon Capital, the internal placement agent/ partnerships team, Fosun Capital Group, as well as the TMT & Entertainment Group. Prior to joining Fosun Group, James was an Associate Director at Jade Invest in Shanghai, an independent China dedicated fund of private equity funds, where he covered fund investments, operations, legal matters and investor relations. Previously he has also worked at PwC in their corporate finance/ transactions services strategy consulting practice in Shanghai and London.

Richard Chang is the Deputy Country Head of Vena Energy in Taiwan, responsible for the business development, investment, construction and operation of all renewable assets in the country.
With more than 20-years of experience in public infrastructure and construction management, Richard has been played an integral role in the development of Taiwan’s largest ground-mounted solar project in the Chiayi County, and has enabled the rapid expansion of Vena Energy’s portfolio across Taiwan. As a native of Taiwan, Richard has also been crucial in fostering relationships with the host communities, municipal and state governments through corporate and social responsibility initiatives.
Prior to his appointment as Deputy Country Head of Vena Energy Taiwan, Richard served in senior leadership roles in multinational and large-scale construction companies such as Kuan Hwa Property Development, Kuoyuan Construction and Engineering, T&T/Loblaw Company Ltd., and Bennett and Wright Construction and Engineering Company.
Richard received a Master of Science in Environment Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University.

Prior to joining Cherubic Ventures, Tina Cheung was the co-founder and CEO of EnvisionRecruit, a marketing platform that connects education institutions and students in emerging markets. Pamela Fung is an Executive Director for Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners Private Equity Fund of Funds group, and leads AIP's Asian investment activities. She has 15 years of industry experience. Prior to AIP, Pamela was a consultant with McKinsey's corporate finance practice in Hong Kong; she has also worked for Monitor Group and Lehman Brothers. Pamela has Business and Law degrees (first class honors) from the University of Hong Kong and an M.B.A. with honors from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Masahiko Honma is co-founder and general partner of Incubate Fund, the largest seed to early stage focused tech VC in Japan, having the operations in Tokyo, Singapore, Bangalore, and San Francisco. Incubate Fund has been investing over 200 startups to date, and the firm is managing US$330M now, backed by seasonal LPs like Tencent, Yahoo, LINE, SEGA, Mixi, Mitsui Sumitomo Bank, and Japan’s government fund. Sam Robinson is Managing Partner of North-East Private Equity Asia, which focuses on Asia private equity funds. Paul Yang (Hong Kong) joined KKR in 2017 and is a Member and Head of KKR Greater China. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Yang was the president and CEO of the China Development Financial Corp. ("CDFC"), one of the oldest and largest merchant banking groups in Asia with over $20 billion in assets. He led a team of over 7,000 people with operations in Taipei, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Seoul, Singapore, Bangkok, and Jakarta. Having joined CDFC in 2005 as its chief investment officer and head of its private equity operation, he was promoted to the CEO role in 2011. During his tenure, Mr. Yang successfully restructured its then-proprietary private equity operation into a growing asset management franchise and was credited with completing a series of strategic acquisitions in banking and securities that has transformed CDFC. Prior to CDFC, he was managing director and head of private equity and mezzanine finance at DBS Bank in Hong Kong. Rebecca Yang heads the Alternative Investment program for Taiwan Life Insurance and leads the Fintech investments for CTBC Group, a 53 years old leading financial group in Taiwan. Ms. Yang starts her career in CTBC since 2003 with experience of corporate banking, financial advisory, infrastructure investing and venture investing.
Taiwan Life is one of the leading institution investors in Taiwan with over US$ 3 billion exposure in alternative investment.
