Kewsong Lee is the Chief Executive Officer of Carlyle, Chairman of the Executive Group, and was elected to the Board of Directors effective January 1, 2018.
Mr. Lee joined Carlyle in 2013 as Deputy Chief Investment Officer for Corporate Private Equity and in 2016 he assumed the additional role of leading the Global Credit segment. Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Lee was a partner and a member of the Executive Management Group at Warburg Pincus, where he spent 21 years.
He is currently the President of Lincoln Center Theater, Vice Chairman for the US Chamber of Commerce China Center and a member of the Business Roundtable and Global Advisory Council of Harvard University. He also serves on the board of the US China Business Council and FCLT Global, and is a Trustee of the Center for Strategic and International Studies and an Executive Committee Member of the Partnership for New York.
Mr. Lee has been married to his wife Zita Ezpeleta for over 25 years, and they have two adult children. He earned his AB in applied mathematics in economics at Harvard College and his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Anthony Kerwick is a Managing Director of Australian Private Equity firm Adamantem Capital. Adamantem invests in mid-market opportunities in Australia and New Zealand and manages over $1.3bn of capital for global institutional LPs. Anthony has extensive experience in private equity, company directorships and management consulting.
Mr. Kerwick was a Managing Director at Pacific Equity Partners from 2004 to 2014, having joined the firm in 1999. Prior to this, he spent three years at Bain & Company as a global strategy consultant.
Mr. Kerwick is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He received a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from University of Queensland.

Fred supports all aspects of the decision-making process of the Private Credit Team, including sourcing, structuring, reviewing, and negotiating deal opportunities.
Prior to joining Adams Street, Fred was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs. In this role, he focused on investing capital out of various private debt vehicles, including the firm's first Business Development Company (BDC), as well as managing initial credit reviews, structuring the financing, business due diligence, participating in Investment Committee approval, negotiating deal terms, and coordinating legal documentation.
Fred’s other experience includes a Vice President role at Fifth Street Asset Management, an Associate role at Greenhill & Co. and Golden Arc Capital, and an Analyst position at Banc of America Securities. Frederick commenced his career at Lehman Brothers, as an Analyst within the Credit Derivatives team.
Fred is a member of the Adams Street Partners Private Credit Investment Committee.

Ben Hart focuses on the development of institutional client and consultant relationships, and works with other members of the investor relations team to serve the needs of Adams Street Partners’ clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Ben worked at Capital Dynamics as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Asia, overseeing the firm’s business development efforts in Asia and North America.
Before Capital Dynamics, Ben served as Managing Director at Aircom International, focused on improving regional business performance. He also held senior business development positions at Convergys Corporation, Alliance Digital, Inc., and the JM Network.

Joined Advantage Partners in January 2002. Katsuya has been responsible for Advantage Partners’ investor relations, ESG, and middle/back office administration functions since 2018 and is a member of AP’s investment committee for Japan buyouts. As an investment partner prior to assuming the role of CAO, he was responsible for investments including Polygon Pictures Inc., Nihonkaisui Co., Ltd., and Xacti Corporation. After graduating from university, he joined Bain & Company Japan Inc. and was engaged in various strategic and operational projects for clients across broad industry sectors (financial services, software, auto, electronics, and others). He subsequently transitioned into venture investment and incubation activities for e-commerce and software-related start-ups before joining Advantage Partners. Richard Folsom founded Advantage Partners in Tokyo in 1992 with Taisuke Sasanuma. His previous experience was in management consulting with Bain & Company, primarily in their Tokyo office, where he accumulated eight years of experience in developing and implementing strategies for both foreign and domestic corporations in the Japanese market. He received his undergraduate degree in Japanese and Economics from Brigham Young University, and an MBA degree from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
In 1997, Richard and Taisuke established Japan’s first buyout fund, and Richard has since focused his time on the development of this private equity investment practice. In addition to the 1997 fund, subsequent funds were raised in 2000, 2003, 2007, 2009, 2013, and most recently in 2017. Through the funds and portfolio companies, Advantage has made more than 80 investments, of which they have successfully exited more than 50. Recent investments in Japan include the acquisitions of Dental Holding Corp. (Sale of dental materials, medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and other medical-related products) and Fujitsu Interconnect Technologies Ltd (Manufacture of Printed Circuit Boards). The firm’s investment activities have also expanded to Greater China and Southeast Asia with the raising of an Asia Fund in 2017, where recent acquisitions include Plastic Center Group, Malaysia-based contract manufacturer and Elise Fashion Limited, Vietnam-based women's apparel company.

Mr Tang is the Founding Chairman and Managing Partner of Affinity Equity Partners following its spin-off from UBS in 2004. Prior to that, he was the Chairman of UBS Capital Asia Pacific, the private equity arm of UBS since 1999. Before UBS Capital, he was the Chief Executive for Investment Banking, East Asia at Union Bank of Switzerland since 1995. Following the merger of Union Bank of Switzerland and Swiss Bank Corporation to form UBS, Mr Tang became Chief Executive, Hong Kong, of UBS Group and Asia Regional Head of Investment Banking for UBS Investment Bank. Prior to Union Bank of Switzerland, he served as President and CEO of Banque Indosuez’s Asian investment bank and Chairman of WI Carr (Far East) Limited, one of the leading stockbroking firms in Asia. Mr. Tang began his financial career with Chase Manhattan Bank. During his 17 years at Chase, he served in a number of senior roles in Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Nainesh Jaisingh is a Founding Partner and Chief Executive Officer at Affirma Capital. He is based in Singapore and also directly manages the Private Equity business in South East Asia.
Prior to leading the MBO of Standard Chartered Private Equity (SCPE) to form Affirma Capital, Nainesh was a founding member of the business within Standard Chartered Bank in 2002, and most recently the Global Head of the Principal Finance business of the Bank.
Nainesh’s early career was with ANZ Investment Bank and ANZ Grindlays.He is an Engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), BHU, and holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore.

Steve Moseley is Deputy CIO and Head of Private Markets and Alternative Investments for the US$65 billion Alaska Permanent Fund, an endowment formed in 1980 to provide for all current and future generations of Alaskans. Before joining APFC Moseley restructured and sold Marston-Ross Corporation, a Connecticut-based family investment office. Before that he was president of StepStone Group, a global manager of diversified private market assets and, prior to that, co-president of the direct investment division of StepStone’s predecessor company.
Earlier in his career, Steve worked in investment banking at Credit Suisse First Boston (“CSFB”) and as a principal in CSFB’s private equity investment affiliate, Windward Capital Partners.
Moseley received his MBA from Yale University and his BA from Wesleyan University.

Andress is the Chief Investment Officer of ACP Private Equity & Head of Private Equity, Asia Pacific. She is also a member of the Global Investment Committee for ACP Fund Investments. Prior to working for ACP, Andress was employed at the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (Special Investments) in London. She started her career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore where she worked on the China and North American desks and was posted to Germany as First Secretary/ Deputy to the Ambassador and was also a Singapore delegate to the United Nations in New York. She also served as Centre Director for the Singapore Economic Development Board in Frankfurt where she helped German business set up in Singapore.

Oliver Stratton is a Managing Director for Alvarez & Marsal's Asian practice in Hong Kong. With 25 years of experience in consulting and private equity in Asia, his primary areas of concentration are business strategy, performance improvement, operational turnarounds and M&A. Mr. Stratton has worked with clients across a range of industries including private equity, financial services, telecommunications, consumer goods and retail, industrial products and services, transportation and logistics and energy and resources.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Stratton spent 20 years with Bain & Company, including 10 years as a Partner. Mr. Stratton also spent two years as a Managing Director with Candover as part of its Asia leadership team.
In these roles Mr. Stratton has served many of the global, regional and major local country funds operating in Asia. Working with those clients, he has led due diligence and portfolio company performance improvement assignments across a range of industry sectors in Greater China, Korea and Southeast Asia.
Mr. Stratton earned an MA in engineering from Cambridge University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. A British national, Mr. Stratton has been based in Hong Kong since 1988.

Mr. Wong is Managing Partner and CEO, Ares SSG and a member of the Management Committee of Ares Management. Additionally, Mr. Wong serves on the Ares SSG Investment Committee and is a Director of Ares SSG Hong Kong. Mr. Wong primarily focuses on investment activities, as well as overseeing strategic matters and business operations of Ares SSG. Prior to joining Ares in 2020, Mr. Wong founded SSG Capital Management in 2009 and served as its Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer, where he focused on special situations and private debt investments across Asia-Pacific, with a focus on China, India and South-East Asia. Mr. Wong was instrumental in the acquisition of distressed assets across Asia and which led to numerous restructuring situations. Previously, he was a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers in Hong Kong from 1997 to 2008, where he ran their Asia Special Situations Group. Mr. Wong started his career at Coopers & Lybrand, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994, and went on to join JP Morgan Securities Asia in Hong Kong. He is a founding member of the APAC Alternative Credit Council (ACC), which helps in developing the private credit markets in the region. Mr. Wong holds a B.B.A. from the University of Michigan in Business Administration and an M.B.A. from Manchester Business School and the University of Wales.

Tim Burroughs is managing editor of Asian Venture Capital Journal, having joined the publication in May 2011. He is responsible for all editorial content put out under the AVCJ brand, including Asian Venture Capital Journal, AVCJtv, AVCJ Awards and AVCJ.com. Tim previously spent five years at China Economic Review, serving as editor-in-chief and then editorial director. Located in Greater China since 2003, during which time he has lived in Beijing, Qingdao and Hong Kong, Tim has been a China-based contributor for publications including The Sunday Times, Sunday Telegraph, BBC and China Daily. Prior to moving to China, he trained and worked as a journalist in the UK. He was honored at the Society of Publishers in Asia awards in 2007, 2008 and 2010, and at the State Street Institutional Press Awards - Asia in 2012.

Mr. Gorthy is the Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for directing the investment activities of the Avenue Asia Strategy and has over 20 years of investment experience in Asia. Prior to joining Avenue in 2014, Mr. Gorthy was a Managing Director and Partner at Pacific Alliance Group (“PAG”) in Hong Kong, where he was a Senior Portfolio Manager focusing on special situations and distressed investments. Prior to PAG, Mr. Gorthy was a Director in Deutsche Bank’s Asia-Pacific Distressed Products Group. Previously, he was a Director at Beacon Advisory Pte Ltd in Singapore, providing consulting and advisory services to Asian corporates and, before that, Mr. Gorthy worked in Deutsche Bank’s Corporate Finance and Investment Banking division.
Mr. Gorthy received a Bachelor of Technology (First with Distinction) from National Institute of Technology Warangal (1996) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (2000).

Jenny Newmarch is the Senior Portfolio Manager for Private Equity at Aware Super, the second largest profit for-member Superannuation Fund in Australia with AUD $100billion in funds under management. Aware Super’s private equity portfolio is over AUD 5 billion as at 30 September 2020 and is invested globally in a concentrated portfolio of funds and co-investments in strategies ranging from venture capital to buyouts. Jenny has over 12 years experience in private equity as an asset allocator and adviser and has over 20 years experience in the investment field having started her career as an investment consultant and actuary in the UK.
Jenny is a graduate of Imperial College London, a Fellow of the UK Institute of Actuaries and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Wen Tan is the founder of Azimuth Asset Consulting, providing strategic, organisational and operational advice to guide asset owners and asset managers towards their long-term goals. Wen specialises in complex situations such as redesigning governance structures, conflicts of interests resolution (whether between investors, between managers and investors, within captive managers, or within family structures), succession planning, strategic growth opportunities, spinouts, and post-merger/acquisition integration.
Wen formerly headed Aberdeen Standard Investments’ Asia Pacific private equity platform, and has unique insights into the investment management industry, having viewed the sector from multiple perspectives: as a financial sector specialist at KPMG in London, as an M&A investment banker with Lazard focusing on financial institutions, from an LP perspective on behalf of various types of institutions (Search Investment Group – a family office; Squadron Capital and FLAG Capital – both boutique private equity firms; Aberdeen Asset Management and Aberdeen Standard Investments – both global investment management firms), from a GP perspective at the above firms, and from an operational perspective as de facto local COO dealing with post-M&A integration through multiple acquisitions and mergers.

Kiki Yang is the regional co-head of our APAC Private Equity practice, as well as an expert in our global Advanced Manufacturing & Services practice, based in Hong Kong.
She has more than 10 years of consulting and investment banking experience, working extensively with multinational and local clients to address their most pressing strategic issues.
Kiki holds deep expertise in due diligence, strategy and operational and organizational improvement. She has led numerous diligence efforts for global, regional and local private equity funds in industries including telecommunications, media, technology, industrial goods and services, consumer products and retail.
Kiki has led a number of major fund strategy projects with leading private equity funds in Greater China focusing on fund positioning, differentiation, fundraising, organization and governance issues. She has also led a number of cases with private equity portfolio companies focusing on topics such as operational improvement, regional growth opportunities and overall corporate growth strategies.
She holds an MBA with honors from Wharton School of Business and a BA from Hamilton College. She speaks fluent Mandarin, Cantonese and English.

Mr. Lyons joined Bain Capital Credit in 2006. He is a Managing Director and Head of Bain Capital Credit Asia based in Bain Capital Credit’s Hong Kong office. He is the Portfolio Manager of Bain Capital Special Situations Asia fund. Mr. Lyons is also a member of the Distressed and Special Situations team focused on special situations and portfolio investing. Prior to his current role, Mr. Lyons was based in Bain Capital Credit's London office covering European distressed opportunities. Previously, Mr. Lyons was a consultant at Bain & Company where he advised clients in a range of industries.
Mr. Lyons received an A.B. Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University.

Mr. Gross-Loh joined Bain Capital in 2000. He is a Managing Director and founding member of Bain Capital’s Asia business—comprising Private Equity, Credit/Special Situations, and Life Science and Venture investments--which he now heads serving as Managing Partner. Mr. Gross-Loh started and managed the Tokyo office in 2006 and previously worked in the Boston and New York offices. Mr. Gross-Loh is a member of the Partnership Committee, the Global Private Equity Board and Operating Committees at Bain Capital.
Prior to Bain Capital, Mr. Gross-Loh was a consultant with Bain & Company from 1998-2000 and worked with NEC Corporation in Tokyo from 1992 to 1996.
Mr. Gross-Loh received an MBA from Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar and a BS from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Gross-Loh serves on the Board of several companies including Kioxia (formerly Toshiba Memory), Japan Wind Development, Retail Zoo, Rise Education, and Showa Aircraft. Ms. Jain has 26 years of experience across financial markets in Europe & Asia across deal origination, structuring, underwriting, portfolio & risk, and fundraising. Prior to joining BPEA, Ms. Jain spent 8 years focused on the mid-market corporate sector in India, most recently heading Indian Private Debt Fund at Religare Credit Advisors LLP (RCAL), and prior to that as Chief Risk Officer for Religare Finvest Limited, a mid-market focused NBFC, responsible for managing risk across all businesses. Before joining Religare, Ms. Jain worked for 10 years in London mainly as Managing Director at HSBC, and prior to that as Director at Barclays Capital in the Structured Credit business. Before her time in London, she worked in debt capital markets covering Asia, based out of Hong Kong with Peregrine Fixed Income Limited across debt syndication, loan trading & risk function.
Ms. Jain has lived and worked in India, Hong Kong & the UK and holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from VNIT and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.

Jean Eric Salata is the Chief Executive and Founding Partner of Baring Private Equity Asia (or “BPEA”). Mr. Salata oversees all investment and divestment decisions made at the Firm, as well as its strategic direction. Mr. Salata has been responsible for the investment activity of the Firm since 1997 when he started the regional Asian private equity investment program for UK-based Baring Private Equity Partners Ltd. Mr. Salata later led the management buyout of this program in 2000 to establish BPEA as an independent firm.
Mr. Salata has lived and worked in Hong Kong since 1989, and graduated magna cum laude from the Wharton school of the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Finance and Economics.

Ted joined BCP Credit in New York in 2017 to lead BCP Credit. Previously, Ted was President at Apollo Investment Corporation and the Chief Investment Officer of Apollo Investment Management where he was the head of its US Opportunistic Platform and also oversaw the Private Origination business, serving as a member of the Senior Management Committee. Prior to Apollo, he worked at Goldman Sachs for 13 years where he most recently ran the bank loan distressed investing desk. He was previously the head of Principal Capital Investing for the Special Situations Group.

Mark Hersee is a Partner and covers the European healthcare sector.
Mark joined BC Partners in London in 2008. Previously, he spent 5 years at Hermes Focus Asset Management, a large cap UK activist fund, acquiring stakes in public companies with a view to improving returns. Prior to this, he worked as a European equity analyst at Bank of America and also spent 6 years as a fund manager at UBS Asset Management based in London.

Ben Gray is a Founding Partner of BGH Capital, Australia’s largest domestically focused private equity fund. BGH owns Navitas, a leading global Education Company and CyberCX, Australia’s largest Cyber Security Services firm. BGH Post COVID-19 has agreed to acquire four companies including Village Roadshow, Abano Healthcare, Healius Medical Centres and TripADeal. Previously, Ben was a Managing Partner at TPG Capital, where he served as the Joint Head of Asia, as the Head of Australia and New Zealand and as a member of the Global Management Committee. Ben spent almost thirteen years at TPG and led A$2.7 billion of equity investments by TPG including Petbarn, Healthscope, Inghams and Cushman & Wakefield.
Prior to joining TPG in 2004, Ben was a Director at Credit Suisse, where he worked in the investment banking division in New York and Australia from 1994. Ben received a Bachelor of Commerce with First Class Honours from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Business Administration with High Distinction (Baker Scholar) from Harvard Business School.
Ben is a Director of the Australian American Leadership Dialogue.

A Co-Founder of Blackpeak, Chris has more than 25 years of leadership experience in risk advisory, banking, and finance in the Asia–Pacific region. Based in Singapore, Chris has led risk projects across the region. He has extensive industry knowledge and contacts within the financial and corporate communities in Asia, gained from his various leadership roles in the finance industry.
Chris manages complex due diligence, investigations, business intelligence and dispute cases across Asia Pacific. In addition to client and project work, Chris oversees Blackpeak’s growth and strategic initiatives.
Prior to founding Blackpeak, Chris was the Asia–Pacific head of Kroll, the global risk advisory business, and built the firm’s Southeast Asia practice. He was also the former head of investment banking in Asia for Crosby and, prior to that, was an executive director of BNP Peregrine Capital. Chris is an authority on corporate governance in Asia and has been a member of the secretariat of the Asian Corporate Governance Association since 2004.

Amit Dixit is a Senior Managing Director, Co-Head of Asia Acquisitions, and Head of India for Blackstone Private Equity. Since joining Blackstone in 2007, Mr. Dixit has been involved with various investments and investment opportunities in India and South Asia. Previously, Mr. Dixit was a Principal at Warburg Pincus. Mr. Dixit received an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MS in Engineering from Stanford University, and a B.Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai where he was awarded the Director’s Silver Medal for graduating at the top of his program. He currently serves as a Director of several companies including Mphasis, TaskUs, Aadhar, Essel Propack, Aakash Education, Sona Comstar, IBS Software, Jagran Prakashan and Mid-Day Infomedia. Mr. Dixit was previously a Director of Intelenet Global Services, Trans Maldivian Airways, Igarashi Motors India, S.H. Kelkar and Emcure Pharmaceuticals.

Ashish Fafadia is a Partner at Blume Ventures, who manages the Growth Portfolio and Exits, other than being responsible for a portion of the Fund's own capital raising. An early member of Blume since 2012, Ashish led the establishment of Blume’s platform and support services arm, Constellation Blu, that has grown into a 40-member team, providing a wide range of advisory services such as transaction support, regulatory, compliance services and hiring for portfolio companies.

Ashish is a Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary, who has worked with SBI Treasury and the Bennett Coleman Company (Times Group) before joining Blume. At Blume, he has Board responsibility amongst Fintech companies such as Turtlemint and Slice, as well as some of our strong growth companies such as Purplle and NowFloats.

Jim Pittman joined BCI as Senior Vice President of Private Equity in April 2016. He leads the team, focusing on growing Private Equity’s total fund exposure while extending the program’s global reach and building out networks for deal flow to increase the number of direct investments. With $171.3 billion in managed assets and $16.4 billion in private equity AUM, BCI is one of Canada's largest institutional investors within the global capital markets.
Prior to joining BCI, Jim spent over 10 years as managing director at the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSPIB). During this time, he co-led the implementation of the firm’s private equity strategy. Prior to PSPIB, Jim was the chief financial officer/chief operating officer for PAL Aerospace, Canada. Jim has a background in acquisitions, divestitures, and tax.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Memorial University of Newfoundland, and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
He currently serves on the board for Refresco Group and Hayfin Capital Management and has been a board member on over ten Private Equity portfolio companies.

Mr. Scott Chan is the Deputy Chief Investment Officer of the California State Teachers’ Retirement System, where he leads a staff of over 170 investment professionals. Prior to CalSTRS, Mr. Chan was the Senior Managing Director of the $55 billion Global Equities portfolio at University of California Regents. Before joining the Office of the CIO of the Regents, he was CIO of Sacramento County Employees’ Retirement System, SCERS, from 2010-2015. Prior to SCERS, Mr. Chan was a partner, co-founder and portfolio manager for several equity hedge funds. He began his investing career in equity research covering technology stocks at JP Morgan Securities in 2000. Mr. Chan and his prior investment teams have been recognized as thought leaders by various industry sources, including: (1) Awarded 2014 Industry Innovation Award by aiCIO (2) Nominated CIO of the Year by Institutional Investor 2014, (3) Nominated Small Public Fund of the Year by Institutional Investor 2013, (4) Named to aiCIO Power 100 List in 2013 and 2014, and (5) Awarded Rising Star of Public Funds by Institutional Investor 2012. Mr. Chan graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Economics and earned an M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Ms. Xu has 25 years of experience in venture capital investments in China. She has led several successful investments including JD.com, NetEase, Meituan-Dianping, 58 Ganji, Yifeng Pharmacy Chain, Three Squirrels Snack Food, and Bestore, etc.
Ms. Xu founded Capital Today in 2005 with the vision to help Chinese entrepreneurs build No.1 brands in China. Ms. Xu is a strong believer of “the power of branding” and “the power of compounding”. She is dedicated to help the Chinese entrepreneurs with Capital Today’s “Three Weapons” - building the brand, building the team, and building the KPI & Culture.

Xiang-Dong (X.D.) Yang is a Managing Director and Chairman of Carlyle Asia, leading all Corporate Private Equity investments in Asia (ex-Japan). He joined Carlyle in 2001 as a Co-Head of the Asia Buyout advisory team. Carlyle has been investing in Asia for over two decades and is one of the largest private equity investors in Asia. Carlyle Asia has invested over US$15.5 billion in more than 150 companies in corporate private equity, and has current assets under management of more than US$11.8 billion, as of June 30, 2020. Mr. Yang is based in Hong Kong.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Yang spent nine years at Goldman Sachs, where he was a Managing Director and Co-Head of Private Equity Investment Asia ex-Japan.

Mr. Belonogoff is a principal for CarVal Investors. Based in London, Mr. Belonogoff is responsible for leading the firm’s London office, as well as managing individual Corporate Securities investments globally. Prior to joining the firm in 1998, Mr. Belonogoff was business development manager for Fritz Companies CIS, a subsidiary of UPS, based in Moscow, Russia. Schonberger is one of the founding partners of CDH Investments and is the head of the firm’s investor relations activities. Prior to the formation of CDH Investments, Schonberger was a Vice President in China International Capital Corporation’s private equity group. From 1987 to 1994, Schonberger worked at The First National Bank of Chicago in New York providing corporate finance services to corporate clients. Hamilton is a Managing Director of CDIB Capital. Mr. Sanjay Kukreja joined ChrysCapital in 2000 and has been a Partner at the firm since 2012. Mr. Menezes is a Partner & COO at ChrysCapital and has been with the firm for over 19 years. He is a member of the advisory committee and is responsible for diligence, regulatory/industry relationships, legal, compliance and operations. Mr. Menezes is a private equity veteran and has served on the board of the Indian private equity association for almost eight years, including as the vice-chairman. Yichen ZHANG is the Chairman and CEO of CITIC Capital Holdings Limited. Mr. Zhang began his career on Wall Street in 1987 at Greenwich Capital Markets. He later joined Bank of Tokyo as Head of Proprietary Trading, and Merrill Lynch as Managing Director of Debt Capital Market for Greater China. Megumi Kiyozuka currently serves as the President & Representative Director of CLSA Capital Partners Japan. As Co-Head of Origination, Francois is responsible for managing the firm’s investment origination activities worldwide. He is based in the firm’s London office.

Matthew Bartus is co-chair of Cooley’s global emerging companies and venture capital practice group. He spent 20+ years in Silicon Valley before relocating and founding Cooley’s Singapore office in 2020. Mr. Cornell is the Senior Partner of Cornell Capital. Prior to founding the firm, he was the Vice Chairman and one of the original architects of the Merchant Banking Division of Goldman Sachs.
Mr. Cornell has over 35 years of experience across all aspects of private equity investing in a broad array of industries. He began his career as an attorney with Davis Polk & Wardwell before joining Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division in 1984. He moved to Tokyo in 1988 to found Goldman Sachs’s real estate efforts in Asia, and then moved to Hong Kong in 1992 where he founded Goldman Sachs’ principal investment business in Asia. Jeremy joined CPE Capital (CPEC) in July 2016. He oversees legal affairs for the Group and its investee companies, with a focus on transactions, risk management and governance.

Melisa Irene is Partner of East Ventures, an early-stage investment fund with B2C and B2B focus industry. Over 5 years, she has worked closely with startup founders across SEA to provide coordination and support for venture growth and fund raising.

Suneel G. Kaji is a Managing Director with Everstone Capital, based in the Firm’s New York office, and addresses cross-border private equity investments and the Firm’s strategic partnerships across investment platforms. Mr. Kaji has over 20 years' private markets’ experience in control and structured direct investing (private equity, special situations, and credit) as well as manager selection and co-investing, principally in Asia and the US. Rich Itri is a Senior Vice President of Professional Services (CIO Advisory) at Eze Castle Integration. Mr. Itri has over 22 years of IT executive experience, spending his entire career managing IT within the financial services industry. Prior to joining Eze Castle, Mr. Itri was Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer for PJT Partners, a boutique investment bank, Principal and Chief Information Officer for Sky Road and held Chief Information Officer positions at Arrowhawk Capital Partners and Arbalet Capital Partners. Over the years, Mr. Itri has developed and managed innovative, business aligned platforms, that drive revenue and operational efficiencies. He holds positions on several Advisory Boards and volunteers his time to help non-profits leverage technology.

Mr. Caldwell joined us in 2007, and is a Partner of the firm and the Head of Asia. Prior to joining, Mr. Caldwell served as an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs’ European Special Situations Group (ESSG). Before joining ESSG, Mr. Caldwell worked for Goldman Sachs’ Whitehall Street Real Estate Funds in Tokyo. Mr. Caldwell graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with a B.A. in Public Policy.

Mr. Frank K. Tang is the Chairman and CEO of FountainVest Partners, a leading private equity firm dedicated to China with offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing.
Prior to founding FountainVest, Mr. Tang headed the China investments for Temasek Holdings. As a Senior Managing Director of Temasek Holdings, he was a member of the firmwide Senior Management Committee and Senior Investment & Divestment Committee.
Mr. Tang was with Goldman Sachs for nearly 11 years. He started his investment banking career at Goldman Sachs in New York, and then moved to Hong Kong. Mr. Tang worked as an Executive Director in Principal Investment Area, the private equity arm of Goldman Sachs. He was later Managing Director and Head of the Telecom, Media and Technology investment banking in Asia ex-Japan for Goldman Sachs prior to joining Temasek.
Mr. Tang was born and raised in Shanghai, and holds an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York. He is a board governor of the China Venture Capital and Private Equity Association. Mr. Tang also sits on the board of Accenture (a global Fortune 500 company) and Weibo (the most popular social media in China). He is also a member of Columbia Business School’s Board of Overseers.

Alicia Gregory is currently Head of Private Equity at Future Fund, Australia’s Sovereign Wealth Fund where she has responsibility for in excess of $22bn in assets invested in private equity. Prior to that she worked for MLC for 17 years, most recently as Head of Private Equity.
Alicia has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services sector and holds a Bachelor of Business from University of Technology, Sydney, is a CFA charterholder and has completed the General Management Programme at INSEAD.

Emre Hidekazu Yuasa is Principal at Globis Capital Partners, leading investments in IT startups targeting digital transformation of various industries. His track record includes GLM (electric vehicle startup, acquired by a Hong Kong based public company) and he sits on the board of Sensyn Robotics (integrated drone solution), MFS (mortgage and personal credit scoring), Global Mobility Service (auto loan, IoT), TABILABO (digital media and brand studio), Photosynth (smartlock IoT) and work closely with Shippio (digital freight forwarder), and CADDi (procurement platform for manufacturing parts).

Michael is a partner at Golden Gate Ventures. He joined the firm in 2013 and is currently leading the Growth venture fund. His entrepreneurial journey began in 2000 when he co-founded an IT managed services startup that was acquired in 2006. In 2007, Michael founded a venture fund focused on Dutch small- and medium-sized enterprises to help them with capital financing, business development, and strategy. During the same period, he was invited to join the Economic Development Board Rotterdam as vice-chairman. In that role, he launched the Young Economic Development Board. He brought together a highly influential Dutch network to increase public-private relationships to ensure business leadership invested in local while leveraging the public infrastructure.

Maurice Gordon is a senior managing director and the head of private equity at Guardian Life Insurance company of America.
He has over 25 years experience in private equity investing and portfolio management. In addition to Guardian Life, he has headed up private equity teams at Hartford Insurance and CIGNA insurance.
He and his team currently manage a $3 billion private equity Portfolio that includes buyouts, growth, venture, infrastructure, credit and farmland. He invests in primary funds, co-invests and secondaries.

Tomoko Kitao is a Managing Director at Hamilton Lane, based in the firm’s Tokyo office, where she is primarily responsible for management support and development of the firm’s client relationships in Japan. Prior to joining Hamilton Lane in October 2012, Ms. Kitao was with the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, most recently as Chief Manager in the International Credit Division. Previously, she was Senior Manager in the Structured Finance Division, where she was responsible for managing a portfolio of global private equity fund investments. She also has extensive experience in the Credit Division, having worked out of the bank’s New York and London offices. Ms. Kitao received a B.A. from International Christian University. Xiaying is the Head of Singapore at Hamilton Lane, she is also responsible for leading business development activities in South East Asia.
Prior to joining Hamilton Lane in 2016, Xiaying was an Associate Director with BNP Paribas’ Global Markets Institutional Solutions Sales team. Xiaying began her career as an analyst at BNP Paribas’ Equity and Commodities Structuring Group.

Hemal Mirani rejoined HarbourVest's senior management team in Asia in 2015 to focus on investments and investor relations across the Asia Pacific region.
Ms. Mirani first joined HarbourVest in 1997 and spent eleven years developing relationships with leading Asian private equity managers and working with our investors and consultants across the region to advance and optimize their private market investment programs. She rejoined HarbourVest after six years with CVC Capital Partners in Hong Kong, where she was head of investor relations in Asia and Chief Administrative Officer.

Kelvin Yap joined HarbourVest’s London office in 2006 to focus on growth equity and buyout co-investments in Europe and Asia Pacific. In 2009, Kelvin transferred to HarbourVest’s Hong Kong team to focus on primary partnership fund investments and direct co-investments in Asia Pacific. Kelvin currently serves as a board observer at APIIT Education Group, and Ascender.
Kelvin joined HarbourVest from Deloitte in London, where he managed merger and acquisition (including demergers and IPOs) due diligence for both private and public transactions. Prior to that, Kelvin was a senior associate at PwC in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Martin Yung joined HarbourVest in 2014 and focuses on secondary investments. This includes analyzing, structuring, and monitoring a wide range of secondary transactions.
Martin was previously at Pomona Capital where he was responsible for sourcing and executing secondary investments and monitoring its primary fund of funds program in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to that, he held a number of roles at Paul Capital and Lloyds Banking Group in London and Hong Kong.

Mr Edmond Lau is responsible for external affairs, financial infrastructure and research. He holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in Economics and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Hong Kong. Mr Lau joined the Hong Kong Government as an Administrative Officer in 1986. He joined the HKMA in 1997 as Division Head (Banking Development) and had been involved in banking reform and the establishment of the Deposit Protection Scheme. He also served as the Administrative Assistant to the Chief Executive of the HKMA in 2004 after a one-year secondment to the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau. Mr Lau was promoted as Executive Director (Strategy and Risk) in 2005. He assumed the post of Executive Director (Monetary Management) from 2007 to 2013 when he resigned from the HKMA to pursue further study and, thereafter, take up a leadership role in an NGO. Mr Lau joined HKMC Annuity Limited as Chief Executive Officer in 2017.

Jacob Chiu is a Managing Director responsible for Asian PE manager research and co-investments for HQ Capital, a leading global independent alternative investment manager with $8 billion AUM in private equity. Previously, he was a Partner with FLAG Squadron Asia; a Managing Director with Search Investment Group; and held senior operating and financial roles with Glaxo, Kraft and TigerPack. Reijiro (Ray) Yamamoto, a founding Partner of Integral has over 20 years of experience in investment banking activities including domestic and cross-border M&A, MBOs, LBOs, going-private transactions, debt-restructuring, workouts of multi-national insolvent companies and sales of non-performing loans in Japan, Europe and the US. He is extremely knowledgeable on deal financing issues, having arranged, structured, negotiated financing for numerous transactions.
Mr. Yamamoto began his career with Mitsui Bank (the current Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC)) in 1984. In 1990, he joined AT Kearney as a management consultant in Chicago and subsequently, he moved to London in 1991, where he engaged in Sakura Bank’s (currently SMBC’s) structured finance. After 7+ years in London, he returned to Japan in 1998 and joined Sakura Bank’s Mergers and Acquisitions Department (currently SMBC’s M&A firm) where he was in charge of the cross-border M&A group. In 2000, he joined Unison Capital, one of the first buyout funds in Japan. When he was with Unison Capital, he played a key role in the success of Unison’s first fund. He provided advisory services to his portfolio companies often taking on the director role at the companies in which the fund invested.
While at GCA, he structured and closed the MBO of World Co., Ltd., the largest MBO in Japan and also led a lot of landmark M&A deals of Japan such as a US$19 billion worth merger between Hankyu and Hanshin railway companies. He was also an investment committee of Fund I of Mezzanine Corporation, a 100% subsidiary of GCA and the first independent Mezzanine investment firm in Japan.

Huai Fong is the Regional Lead for the East Asia & the Pacific PE Funds team of the International Finance Corporation (“IFC”) where she is responsible for leading investments into funds in the region.
Prior to joining IFC, Huai Fong spent five years with Deutsche Investitions-Und Entwicklungsgesellschaft MBH (“DEG”) where she had a primary coverage of Southeast Asia. She led fund investments and co-investments in the region as well as managed a portfolio of funds through her Advisory Committee positions. Tadashi Nishizawa is a Director of Private Equity Investment Department of Japan Post Bank (JPB). He has over 15 years of private equity investment experience. Brian Dillard joined KKR in 2006 and is a Managing Director and Head of Asia Credit. Prior to moving to Hong Kong in 2018, Mr. Dillard was a portfolio manager for KKR's Special Situations funds and portfolios in New York. Before joining the Special Situations team, Mr. Dillard was a member of KKR’s Private Equity Team and has been involved with several investments, including KKR’s investment in Oriental Brewery. With almost 25 years of restructuring experience behind him, Patrick has been involved in all areas of Hong Kong and China restructuring practice, from formal restructuring and insolvency engagements, financial restructurings and back-door listings, to exit planning and implementation projects for KPMG’s MNC clients.

Over the last two decades, Patrick has been involved in some of the most significant cross border insolvencies the Asian market has seen. He was recently involved in the restructurings of the Noble Group Limited and Luckin Coffee, and is currently completing the liquidations of Lehman Brothers’ Hong Kong operations, having also undertaken significant cross-border roles in the MF Global and OW Bunker cases.

Having practised tax for about 23 years, Wee Hwee has extensive experience in structuring single country and multiple jurisdictions funds with a Asian focus, both close ended and open ended, listed and unlisted, and across various alternative asset classes include real estate, infrastructure, renewable energy, private equity and debt. Specifically, he has structured several Pan Asian real estate funds that heavily invest in Australia and Japan and is familiar with structuring the fund to be compliant with the Managed Investment Trust regime in Australia and the TMK structure in Japan. Jun Tsusaka is CEO, CIO and Chairperson of the ESG Committee of Nippon Sangyo Suishin Kiko Ltd. (NSSK), an investment firm established in 2014 and focused on Japan’ s middle market. NSSK currently manages five investment funds (including its flagship fund and regional impact funds) on behalf of Japanese and international government and private sector pension plans, institutional investors, endowments and family offices.

Dr Michelle Deaker is a Managing Partner of OneVentures, Australia’s leading technology and healthcare multi-strategy investment firm. Raju Ruparelia leads Ontario Teachers’ direct private equity investing activities across Asia-Pacific. Raju joined Ontario Teachers’ in 2008, was a senior founding member of its Hong Kong office in 2013 and has nearly two decades of combined experience in private equity and corporate finance. He has worked in both Toronto and London for the organization and has been involved in a number of its direct investments, including the acquisitions of Spandana Sphoorty Financial Ltd., INC Research, Coway, DTZ and Cushman & Wakefield. Raju currently sits on the board of Cushman & Wakefield.

Jay brings over 20 years of operational experience as Country President and Regional Director with various multinational corporations. Leveraging his background in executive positions, he is participating in operation of all Orchestra portfolio companies as majority-shareholder.

Matt joined Pacific Equity Partners in 2009. Prior to joining PEP, he was a consultant with Bain & Company in Australia. Matt was an Innovation Scholar at Macquarie University where he received a Bachelor of Commerce (Actuarial Studies) and was awarded the Vice Chancellor's Commendation for Academic Excellence.

Weijian Shan is chairman and CEO of PAG. Prior to PAG, he was a partner of TPG, and co-managing partner of TPG Asia (formerly known as Newbridge Capital). Over two decades, Weijian Shan has led a number of landmark transactions that have returned billions of dollars in profit to his firms’ investors. Previously, Shan was a managing director of JP Morgan, and a professor at the Wharton School. He holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.B.A. from the University of San Francisco. Shan is the author of Money Games: The Inside Story of How American Dealmakers Saved Korea's Most Iconic Bank (2020) and Out of the Gobi: My Story of China and America (2019). Mark Valadao is a Managing Director of Pagoda Capital, responsible for business development and investor relations. Mr. Valadao has over 24 years of investment industry experience, including 16 years in Asia, with a deep knowledge of investments and strategies across multiple asset classes as well as extensive experience working collaboratively with institutional investors around the world.
Prior to joining Pagoda Capital, Mr. Valadao held senior roles at private equity firms, GL Capital Group and Skymont Capital. Mark was previously Head of Portfolio Strategy at State Street Global Advisors where he was a member of the senior leadership team responsible for representing the firm’s investment solutions to institutional investors in the Asia region. Before SSGA, Mr. Valadao was an Executive Director at MSCI where he was the Asia Pacific Head of Financial Products. Prior to MSCI, Mr. Valadao was an Executive Director at Value Partners Group responsible for the overall management of its wholly owned subsidiary - Sensible Asset Management. Before Value Partners Group, Mr. Valadao was with HSBC Global Asset Management where he helped lead HSBC’s multi-manager business in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to HSBC, Mr. Valadao was Senior Portfolio Manager at Mellon Capital based in San Francisco, USA where he was the lead manager of the US$7 billion Vanguard Asset Allocation Fund.
Mr. Valadao received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Finance from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Alex Wilmerding is a member of the Pantheon global investment team and the Pantheon Asia Regional Investment Committee. He also manages Pantheon’s Asian investor relations. Prior to joining Pantheon, Mr. Wilmerding was a Director at Citi Private Bank with a focus working with financial sponsors including private equity and venture funds and distribution of alternatives. He previously spent nine years as a Partner at Boston Capital Ventures where he sourced, structured, and managed growth and venture investments. Prior to working for Boston Capital Ventures, he served as Commercial Manager Eastern China for the Fednav Group, as well as in executive management positions for the Swire Group in its subsidiaries Cathay Pacific Airways and Cathay Dragon based in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Jakarta. Mr. Wilmerding has a BA from Yale University and MBA from Columbia Business School.

Shane is a member of the Portfolio Group. His primary focus is on value creation in the Asia portfolio and due diligence of new investment opportunities from an operational perspective.
Prior to joining Permira, Shane worked for KKR Capstone for six years, where he was responsible for value creation initiatives in portfolio companies across Japan, Australia and India. Prior to that he spent six years with McKinsey and Company.

Marcus Simpson is a private markets consultant, mentor and maker who has been pushing industry boundaries for decades. He was Head of Global Private Capital at QIC until 2020, a program he established in 2005. That is a A$7.0bn global program with top decile global investment performance. He is at the forefront of a new private equity investment model reflected in a 2015 paper co-authored with Josh Lerner and Hugh MacArthur: The Next Generation Private Equity Investor, and as reflected in his participation of the Institutional Investors Roundtable, an international community of large, long-term institutional investors seeking to collaborate on private market investments.

Mr. Max Chen is a Partner and a founding member of Primavera Capital.
At Primavera, Mr. Chen led the firm’s investments in a variety of opportunities in the consumer and technology sectors, including investments in Alibaba Group, Cainiao Smart Logistics, Alibaba Local Services Group, Palantir, Lufax, iResearch, Vitaco Health and Linksure Global.

Nisa Leung is a Managing Partner of Qiming Venture Partners and leading its health care investments. Qiming Venture Partners is a leading investment firm in China which currently manages over USD 5.6 billion in assets and investment in over 370 companies.
Prior to joining Qiming, she was co-founder of Biomedic Holdings with operations and investments in medical devices, pharmaceuticals and health care services in China including Novamed Pharmaceuticals (acquired by SciClone NASDAQ:SCLN) and U-Systems (acquired by GE Healthcare). Nisa was Venture Partner of PacRim Ventures in Menlo Park, and was previously with Softbank/Mobius Venture Capital.

Justin Ryan joined Quadrant Private Equity in February 2011 and has been on the Investment Committee for 30 Quadrant investments of which he has led or co-led 14, 6 of which have been successfully exited. Prior to this Mr. Ryan was Chief Executive Officer of Alesco Corporation Limited, an ASX 200 industrial company and before that a Director of Catalyst Investment Managers. Mr. Ryan was Chairman of AVCAL in 2003 and is currently Chairman of GraysOnline, Adore Beauty and Modibodi and is a Director of Love to Dream and Arq.

Dr. Federle is the General Counsel and a member of the Executive Committee of Samena Capital.
He has more than 20 years of experience advising investors on M&A, private equity and other complex transactions in equity, debt and real estate. Prior to joining Samena Capital, Dr. Federle was a Co-Founder and Partner of ESO Capital Group, a US$500 million investment manager focusing on alternative assets across Europe.
Prior to this, Dr. Federle was a Partner and Head of Private Equity for Germany at the international law firm Dewey Ballantine where he specialised in transactional work for private equity and hedge funds. Previously he was a Partner at Norton Rose.
Dr. Federle holds a JD and PhD (Dr iur) from the University of Freiburg i.Br., a Licence en Droit from the Université D’Aix-Marseille, and a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of California at Los Angeles. He is also qualified as a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA)

Justin Lo is currently a Senior Portfolio Manager of Private Equity at SF Employees’ Retirement System (SFERS) and is responsible for the plan’s $2.5 billion Venture and Growth Capital portfolio. He leads all portfolio construction efforts and manages the sourcing and underwriting on all strategies within VC and Growth Capital including direct fund investments, co-investments, secondaries, micro-VCs, growth buyout and more. Prior to joining SFERS, he served as the Assistant Director of UCSF Foundation where he was responsible for the University’s $1.5 billion endowment across both public and private markets. He received his BA in Statistics from University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from California State University at Sacramento. In 2020, he was recognized as one of Trusted Insight’s Top 30 Pension Private Equity Investors. He is also an active CFA charterholder.

Kyle Shaw is the founder and managing partner of ShawKwei & Partners, a private equity fund manager based in Hong Kong and Singapore investing in Asian advanced manufacturing and service industries. ShawKwei is actively involved in managing portfolio companies and has specialist operating skills in areas such as revenue growth, margin expansion, and capital efficiency.
Kyle has managed investment portfolios starting in 1990 with Security Pacific National Bank in Hong Kong, then in 1993 with the Tudor Investment Group in Shanghai, and in 1998 establishing ShawKwei & Partners. Prior to private equity, Kyle worked in the oil industry with Union Texas Petroleum in Houston and Tidewater in Louisiana and Singapore. During his private equity career, Kyle has served on the board of directors of numerous companies in China, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan including Flextronics, China Fangda Group, YongLe Tape, Amos Holdings, and Beyonics.
Kyle received an MBA degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1987 and a BS Commerce from the University of Virginia in 1983. He studied Mandarin Chinese at Taiwan’s National Normal University Language Institute for foreign students in 1985, and has lived over 30 years in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and Taiwan.

Tushar joined Square Peg as a Partner in 2015. Founded in 2012, Square Peg is a venture capital fund that invests in Australia, Israel and Southeast Asia with a focus on Series A and Series B. It manages more than USD1 billion in capital commitments.
Tushar leads Square Peg’s presence in SEA, and is based in Singapore. He has led several investments for Square Peg across SEA and Australia, and represents the firm on numerous portfolio company Boards.
Prior to Square Peg Tushar had more than 10 years’ experience as a lawyer and management consultant with a focus on tech, media and telecommunications. He has advised on all facets of business, including growth strategies, M&A, go-to-market, leadership development, organisational design and process improvement.
Tushar holds degrees in computer science and law from the University of New South Wales, and an MBA degree from INSEAD.

Suzanne Tavill is the global head of responsible investing at the StepStone Group, a global private markets investment firm focused on providing customized investment solutions and advisory and data services to some of the most sophisticated investors in the world. With more than US$296 billion of private markets allocations, including over US$67 billion of assets under management as of March 31, 2020, StepStone covers the spectrum of opportunities in private markets across the globe. Ms. Tavill leads StepStone’s Responsible Investment initiative across all businesses and investment strategies. She is also a member of the private equity team.
Prior to StepStone, Ms. Tavill was responsible for AMP Capital’s global alternative investment platform that included private equity, infrastructure and real assets. Before that, she spent five years at Van Eyk Research in Sydney, the last four as head of research. Before moving to Australia, she was an executive director at Goldman Sachs Investment Management, responsible for their UK small-and mid-cap portfolios.
Ms. Tavill received an MSc in finance and economics from the London School of Economics, in addition to a BBS with honors in economics and honors in finance from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

Maria is an Investment Manager in Private Markets at Sunsuper, a A$70 billion profit-for-members superannuation fund in Australia. Private Markets include investments in Private Capital, Infrastructure and Property asset classes. The Private Capital portfolio is a total programme of over A$5 billion, which consists of primary and secondary fund investments, co-investments and direct investments across buyout, venture/growth, and distressed opportunities.
Maria has over 15 years of experience in public and private markets. Prior to Sunsuper, Maria was an Investment Director at AP Capital, Equity Capital Markets at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, a Senior Research Analyst at Asia Pacific Arbitrage Partnership, and an Investment Strategist at AMP Capital. Maria has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours in Finance) from the University of New South Wales, and a Masters of Applied Finance & Investment from FINSIA. Maria is also a CFA Charterholder.

Mark Chiba is Group Chairman and Partner of The Longreach Group. The Longreach Group is an established independent private equity firm with offices in Hong Kong and Tokyo. The firm focuses on Japan and related Greater China control buyouts in the mature industrial and technology, consumer, business services and financial services sectors. The firm manages three Funds which have accumulated approximately US$2.1 billion of committed limited partner and co-investment capital.
Mark co-founded The Longreach Group in late 2003. Mark's lead responsibilities at Longreach include firm management, senior relationship driven deal sourcing and execution, investments in the financial services sector, and building the firm's capital base and global networks.
Before co-founding Longreach, Mark served as Chief Executive Officer and President of UBS Securities Japan, Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Investment Banking Management Committee, Head of Japan Investment Banking and as a member of the UBS Global Investment Bank Board. Previous to this role in Japan, Mark headed the UBS Asia-Pacific Financial Institutions Group.
Mark is an Australian citizen, resident in Hong Kong. He holds First Class Honours degrees in Economics (University of Melbourne) and Law (University of Sydney). Mark is a Rhodes Scholar with a Master of Philosophy degree in International Relations (with Distinction) from Oxford University.

Tom Lenehan has served as the Deputy Chief Investment Officer of The Rockefeller University since 2011, helping to manage all aspects of the $2.2 billion endowment. Prior to Rockefeller, Mr. Lenehan was a Director at Commonfund Capital starting in 2005, where he primarily focused on manager commitments on behalf of endowment and foundation clients in the private equity, venture capital and natural resources sectors globally. He also led that firm’s secondary investment effort. Prior to Commonfund Capital, Mr. Lenehan worked as a private equity investment professional for Vista Equity Partners in San Francisco, CA and Marsh & McLennan Capital, Inc. (aka, Stone Point Capital) in Greenwich, CT. Mr. Lenehan began his career as a financial analyst at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in the Investment Banking Division in both New York and London. Mr. Lenehan has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Georgetown University, and a MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Jim Adler is the founding managing director of Toyota AI Ventures, and an executive advisor at Toyota Research Institute (TRI). He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Toyota Financial Savings Bank and the Investment Committee of JetBlue Technology Ventures, and he is a member of the Department of Homeland Security Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee.
Jim joined Toyota AI Ventures from TRI, where he served as vice president of data and business development. Prior to that, Jim was vice president of products and marketing at Metanautix, a big data analytics startup funded by Sequoia Capital and Workday that was acquired by Microsoft.
Previously, Jim was the vice president of data systems and chief privacy officer at Intelius, which was acquired by H.I.G. Capital. In addition, he founded VoteHere, a pioneer in cryptographic secure and secret online voting for public elections that was funded by Cisco and HP, among others. Jim started his career as a rocket engineer for Lockheed Martin.
He received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with high honors from the University of Florida, and a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California, San Diego.

Ganen Sarvananthan is the Co-Managing Partner of TPG Capital Asia and Head of Southeast Asia. Prior to joining TPG in 2014, Ganen served as Head of Investments at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, the Government of Malaysia’s strategic investment fund, for almost a decade. He also worked at UBS Investment Bank based in London, Hong Kong and Singapore for more than seven years.

Tatsuo Kawasaki is one of the founding Partners of Unison Capital founded in 1998. His investment experience ranges from retail, service, food, financial service, to manufacturing sector. Prior to joining Unison, he worked for Goldman Sachs Japan, McKinsey, and NextCard, an online credit card venture based in San Francisco. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Keio University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.

T.J. Kono joined Unison Capital in 2002. He has managed a number of investments in Japan since Unison’s first fund, then led Unison’s expansion to Korea as its founding member. Today, he serves as a member of both Japan and Korea Investment Committee. He has been involved in Unison’s investments in Drug Eleven (Japan), Mine-Mart (Japan), UCOM (Japan), Nexcon Technology (Korea), Gong cha (Korea)/Royal Tea Taiwan (Taiwan), and Forbes (Japan). Ehud gained more than two decades of expertise in the high-tech industry as an entrepreneur, investor and operator.
Currently Ehud is the Managing Partner of Canaan Partners Israel, an Israeli venture capital fund, and a Venture Partner with Lenovo Capital heading its investment opportunities in Israel. Ehud is also an active angel investor operating as a partner with a leading investment team, Kaedan Capital.
Prior to these activities, Ehud was a Managing Partner at Vertex VC for seven years. Among other successful investments, Ehud identified Waze as a bright star from the start, leading the first investment round in the company and serving on its board of directors until its acquisition by Google for over $1 Billion.
Previously, Ehud co-founded and served as Chairman and CEO of Ki-Bi Mobile Technologies, a mass-market device specialist for mobile content distribution. He led the business from concept to commercial success, an IPO in London and eventual acquisition.
Earlier, he served as COO and CFO of Telegate, a telecommunications company, where he was responsible for a restructuring plan leading to the acquisition of the company for over US$400 million. Prior to Telegate, Ehud was a private equity investor and investment banker in New York and Tel Aviv, serving on the boards of directors of several technology companies.
Ehud holds a BSc in Computer Engineering (with honors) from the Technion in Israel, and an MBA from Columbia Business School, New York.

Dr. Jeffrey Chi is a veteran in the venture capital industry and a strong advocate for the promotion of venture capital, entrepreneurship & socially responsible investing.
Dr. Chi is a Managing Director of Vickers Venture Partners, Vice Chairman of Vickers Capital Group and a member of its Investment Committee. He is also former Chairman and currently Ambassador of the Singapore Venture Capital & Private Equity Association. Dr. Chi also sits on board of SEEDS Capital (Investment arm of Enterprise Singapore) and on the advisory panels of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the commercialization arm of A*Star and the National University of Singapore Division of Engineering and Technology Management.
Based out of Shanghai, Dr. Chi heads Vickers Venture’s investments in Asia and has investments in artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, education, e-commerce, healthcare/wellness and financial services (including fintech) technology companies.
Dr Chi’s wealth of experience include investment banking (Partner at Pegasus Capital), strategy consulting (senior consultant at Monitor Delloitte) and operations (Managing Director of Spandeck Engineering SEA). Chulmin Lee is a founding member of VIG Partners, where he joined in 2005. Mr. Lee worked as a Senior Project Leader at the Boston Consulting Group (“BCG”) for five years, engaged in numerous post-merger integration, operational improvement, strategy development, commercial due diligence, and corporate restructuring projects. Mr. Lee managed most of BCG’s M&A and post-merger integration projects in Korea, including overseas strategic investments and cross-border post-merger integrations. Mr. Lee’s experience spans various industries, including industrial goods, financial services, consumer electronics, and telecommunications. Mr. Lee holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, and graduated with a BS in Computer Science and Statistics from Seoul National University.

Bill graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology with a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering. He also earned a master of Computer Science degree from the University of San Francisco and EMBA from Golden Gate University.

Jesper Koll has been investing in Japan since becoming a resident in 1986. Over the past two decades, Koll has been consistently ranked as one of the top Japan strategists/ economists, having worked as Chief Strategist and Head of Research for major U.S. investment banks J.P. Morgan and Merrill Lynch. His analysis and insights have earned him a position on several Japanese government and corporate advisory committees. In late-2016, Governor Koike appointed Koll to her Tokyo Financial Center Advisory Board. He is also one of the few non-Japanese members of the Keizai Doyukai, the Japan Association of Corporate Executives.

Boyu Hu is the Founder of XVC.
An entrepreneur and product geek, Boyu co-founded China’s largest lending software company, Amarsoft (SHE:300380), where he led the development of core product lines and helped the company achieve dominance in a highly competitive market before it eventually went public.
After being an entrepreneur and engineer for 10 years, he became a venture capitalist. Before XVC, he worked for DCM and Blue Lake Capital, where he singled out multiple "big ideas" at early-stage - Meicai, Youxinpai (NASDAQ:UXIN), Kwai (Kuaishou), 51talk (NYSE: COE), and Wandoujia (acquired by Alibaba). These companies have raised an average of 400 million USD in follow-on rounds and valued at $4 billion on average.
Boyu received his MBA from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
